Lipstick Jungle

Ever since the abrupt end to Lipstick Jungle, I've been watching reruns to feed my fashion addiction. I love Victory's flirty and girly style, Nico's sophisticated sense, and Wendy's professional chicness. I went into the show expecting another SATC knock-off but ended up infatuated with the dresses, jewels, and killer heels. (To be honest, as fashion forward as SATC has notoriously claimed to be, I am way more impressed with LJ.)

I was so disappointed to hear about the show's cancellation. But recently, I read online (reliability of the source is unknown) that it might come back. There is still hope yet!

I Lust: Rebecca Taylor Sale

Gilt Groupe's Rebecca Taylor sale ends at midnight of 2/18, and I feel a tinge of sadness. I absolutely adore this silk V-neck dress with flirty rosette ruffles on the hem, finished off with a bow at the neckline ($138, org. $390). The flow of the fabric is easy-going while the bow offers a pulled-together feel. It makes for a cute date dress or perhaps drinks with the girls at a swanky lounge.

The rest of the sale includes florals, ruffles, tunics, cardigans, beaded, embroidered, or a combination of the above.

V-Day Suit

I didn't post what I was going to wear on Valentine's Day yesterday mostly because I had no clue what I was wearing until 15 minutes before my date picked me up. I decided to forgo the 3.5" Cole Haans and a cute above-the-knee dress from Levi's, instead opting for a more comfortable combo suitable for an evening in.

The loose tank was perfect for cuddling on the couch watching Comedy Central post-dinner (and totally hid any belly bulges from that pasta), and the cropped cardigan kept my arms warm. I loved the ketchup and mustard of the trapezee coat and the flats, adding a bit of warmth to the black/gray outfit.

Fab in Plaid

I remember I bought my first plaid top about 3 years ago, right when plaid was straddling between hick and cool. It had feminine ruffles, understated puffy sleeves, and a cinched-in waist. If pulled off nicely, plaid can be sophisticated with a bit of school-girl charm.
